Internittent electric problem (a bit long)

I just acquired a '94 9000 CSE, and it's in really nice shape except....
The PO warned me it had an intermittent problem and I see it occuring. Sometimes the engine 'stumbles' for a sec, the radio cuts out, then comes back on. Once it starts happening it repeats at intervals of several seconds to a minute. Shutting the engine off and restarting sometimes clears it out. I checked grounds and had the battery and charging system checked out. No problems found - tho' the battery was a bit undercharged. I put the 'Info' display on volts. When everything is ok, the voltage is 13.3V +/- a few tenths and pretty steady - 13.0 at idle. When the car acts funny the voltage display 'roams' around from 13.0 to 13.6 or more. At or after a stumble, the display may dip to 12 something. On starting, the low voltage is frequently down around 10V. The stumbling may be occuring when the AC comes on (but has happened with it off). It's like there is a bad connection somewhere, but I don't see it.
Any ideas? BTW, where exactly does the Info display read the voltage at? I may substitue a battery and see what happens.
TIA,
Steve
