That fiddling you did with the hose may just be coincidence, when I had problems this summer with my '92 (9KT manual) it would kick in and out of LHM whenever I would get in and start it, sometimes it would sometime not. I would suggest you take the approach I did, make sure all your hoses have good connections ect., I also cleaned all electronic connections with electronic cleaner. Then have your local Saab dealer run the fault codes and replace parts as needed. I did the same on mine, it came back the firewall check valve and oneway valve needed replaced. I ordered through a cheaper source replace in 5 minutes (dealer wanted $300 for part and replacement, did it myself for under $100) and been working perfectly since. I need to have someone reset the system so my ABS and TCS works again, but for now I'm happy! The whole TCS stuff can get really ugly with time and lots of $$$$$$.
