While ACC2 is working in either Off, Econ or Auto modes you can revert between each of these modes by pressing the previous button last pressed. Sample scenarios :

1) ACC2 is off. You turn on ACC2 by pressing AUTO (and get full blast air), then you modify a few settings (ie: lower fan speed, adjust temp, change vents, etc). Now you decide to turn off system completely so you press OFF. If later you want to turn system back on again to "exactly" where you left it in AUTO with all those custom settings, simply press OFF again and ACC2 will revert back to AUTO with those settings memorized.

2) Same principle applies if you start off in ECON mode with customized settings. If you turned off system completely by pressing OFF, pressing OFF again will revert system back to ECON with customized settings memorized.

3) Switching between customized AUTO and customized ECON modes can also be done in this way. Say you're in AUTO then switched to ECON (ie: you don't want air conditioning), by pressing ECON once again will revert back to AUTO with memorized custom settings. Similarly if you're in ECON and switched to AUTO, and later decides you want to go back to customized ECON, simply press AUTO again and ACC2 will return to ECON.

Hope this isn't as confusing as it sounds. I discovered all this by playing around with ACC2 for several days straight after I got my CSE. The steps I described are not documented in the owners manual. Since then I gained *complete control* over ACC2 .... whew, not an easy task. Good luck !
