If the power is removed from the alarm for a few seconds, it reverts to "transport mode" in which the LED flashes every 4 seconds. Power can be removed by disconnecting the battery, or depending on the year, pulling either fuse 19 (early years) or fuse 22 (later years). Since this fuse also controls the continuous power to the radio, its code will also have to be reset regardless of the path taken. Resetting the alarm sensitivity involves a deliberate series of key turns. The Townsend web site has some info on this. If you don't deliberately reset the alarm, it is disabled (no theft protection at all) and, furthermore, you run the risk of accidently setting it to an undesirable state (such it appears you have now) with a random series of key turns executed during normal operation.
