I've often speculated that bottle designers engineer their containers to spill easily, as that means they sell more product. When using the Lexol, or most any other liquid treatment for that matter, I purposefully leave the container in some location that I can't get to with a foot, hand, or other clumbsy appendage, and maybe--just maybe--I'll go through a session without spilling something. Doing so is almost impossible.
This last time I spilled about a year's worth of NuFinish, my favorite high-tech paint treatment, on the driveway when the orbital buffer's extension cord knocked it over. I saw it fall, but before I could run over to right it the damage had already been done. I wonder if they also engineer the visocity of the chemical to flow more quickly for the same reason. Because of this problem, I once tried the NuFinish paste, which even though less convenient to apply to the buffer is impossible for even me to spill, but after a year or two of storage it degrades into an unusable, gummy gel--so I'm back spilling the liquid.
