I went through this same thought process in January for my 91 cdt. I bought the KYB's from Sobstory for $29 each. The Boge were $77 each.
Performance with the KYB's has been at least as good as I expected. The issue I have had with KYB's in the past has been wear. I really have not gone far enough to have feedback on that. They do come with a real lifetime warranty, meaning that you can replace them for free as many times as you feel like crawling under the car.
If I thought I would definitely have this car five years from now, I would have bought the Boge. Since I don't know how long I will have the car, I figured the cost savings was worth the risk that I would have to go back under and the pull the shocks one more time down the road. Also, Jim Moncrief told me that he had not had any complaints about the KYB's, which gives me hope that KYB's have improved.
And I don't have the part number handy.
