Blew the turbo cooling hose, by the time I got it off the freeway, it was steaming and poping like crazy........The motor dropped two cylinders before I got it turned off. I had water with me, and added right away. It fired up and ran fine. I fixed the hose added water and drove it home.
Not sure, but could i have blown the head gasket?
Right now it is running fine. The temp gauge is acting real weird now. It seems to get up to temp a lot faster than before and keeps the cooling fan on longer. It is not running hot at all, the needle doesnt get much higher than a 1/4 past center. but runs in the normal range of 1/4 to almost center on the temp gauge.
What should I look for guys?
Its a 89 9000Turbo auto, 220K, but head rebuilt at 189,000.
I took it out of town the day after it happened (had no choice) and it ran fine.
Oil looks good, but I know for damn sure I ran it out of water for at least 3 minutes.
Thanks,
J
