BSR re-mapped ECU and turbo lag...

probably out of the question to even think of asking this, huh?
Granted, I understand that once you stray from stock, you're now in the Twilight Zone. But, if any light could be shed, that would be great.
I installed the ECU approx. 3 months ago. Definitely a difference: car gobbles any vehicle in its path now, and this from an auto! But right from the start, I've had to endure turbo lag. It was practically non-existent before, probably due to the fact that it's an auto and that it's the Garrett turbo. Was also told by the U.S. distributor that any lag would be eliminated. Well, it's there and it's quite annoying. It is most noticeable when starting out from a standstill. And I'm not talking about when pouncing on the pedal (which I never do from a stop)--just a "smooth take-off" sort of start.
I've replaced and regapped the plugs (1.1 mm works better than 0.9 mm), have a JT 3" complete exhaust, K&N air filter in stock box, Hyperboost "diverter" valve (though I had lag with the stock BPV as well), and use 93 octane consistently.
Is this something that is just software-related? Anyone else experiencing the same dilemma, or someone out there that has the BSR ECU and is not having a problem with lag?
TIA
Joe
