Grant- although the hesitation i was experiencing was anything but slight (fuel cutoff, caused by malfunctioning BPC valve),you may want to check that valve. Remove the 3 hoses, clean it out with a penetrating liquid of your choice, and see if that improves the condition. I was able to remedy my hesitation by doing this. I have not read a post where doing this made things worse. I read many posts about replacing DI casette, yet mine is still the original with 263k miles on it (95 Aero, 5 spd). Yours going at 82k miles is somewhat surprising.
Hesitation can be caused (and improved) by many things. Spark delivery, fuel/air delivery, boost efficiency, and driver input. Air cleaner, spark plugs, fuel filter, all of these are easily replaceable.
Hoses should be checked as well. - good luck- Tom S
