At least thats how I felt a year after I bought my '91 9000T. Once my engine was running well enough to ignore (it took a whole year), I realized that my suspension was in pretty poor shape all around.

Simply bringing the suspension back to stock felt like adding aftermarket suspension mods, because I had gotten so used to the feeling of loose sway bars and worn out bushings. Of course, once I saw the potential improvement from a relatively small investment, I had to move beyond stock (of course) and add Aero front struts and springs ($70 at junk yard) and an Aero sway bar in the back (free! same yard). A few poly bushings and other minor enhancements later and it handles SUPERBLY for about $100.

I've been thinking about a rear shock tower bar also. Obviously, creating a bar that slides over the shock threads wouldn't be difficult. The thing is, I would want to be able to remove it fairly quickly if I needed to restore full luggage capacity. My other concerns, besides removability, are also that it remains QUIET (no groans or sqeaks), and that it might compromise the way the rear end is designed to crumple in a collision.
