you can use "contact cleaner" which is designed for removing residue from sensitive elecronics (i.e. computer motherboards) and therefore will not damage the thin copper wire inside the AMM. It also evaporates almost instantly, and leaves no residue of its own.
The stuff I have is made by "MG Chemimcals" and is called "Electrosolve Contact Cleaner." I sprayed it liberally throughout the inside of the AMM and it seemed to work well. The spray nozzle even rotates to adjust the velocity of the stream.
For the intake, just use carb or throttle body cleaner like Stephen says.
