I think with the 88 you can just turn up the pots yourself, but there is a trick to it. I may be wrong though. I did it with my 90 900t. I just bought a EPROM from swedish dynamics for my 1991 9KT ECU and boy does it kick butt now. The boost needle goes all the way to the end of the red zone and holds about somewhere in the middle of the red. Much smoother and faster accross the rev range. By far the best 350$ I've ever spent on the car. They are very helpful too.
