I have a 91 9000S (non tubro) and have had the saber 2.5" cat back exaust on for quite some time now. I am not happy with the sound it puts out, especially since it was a $600+ system. I have posted about this system before, and how it makes a nasty "ricey" noise. It seemed to only be on accelortation, mostly just before it shifted (auto) but lately I have noticed hearing it at other times, such as on start up. It really annoys me.

Thus, I was wondering, I have looked into other systems since I got this one, and many that I see have two mufflers, a center and a rear, the saber however only has the rear muffler and its tip is not resonated, its a thin piece of S.S. Would any of this be causing problems, would there be too much pressure for this muffler and tip causing the annoying noise? Others who have the system either dont have this problem, or like the sound of theirs, but not me.

I would buy a totally new system if I could not get rid of this problem on my own, but would have to know someone would buy it, so as I dont waste $600 :(

Maybe its just my car, or the fact thats its a non turbo automatic..... who knows, any help would be appreciated
