I always assumed that to be ok, or maybe just some variation in the calibration of the guage. (97 9000 CS). Recently the car sat for three weeks (I use the old 900 in this lousy weather) and the battery was too weak to start the car, so I jumped it off the old 900, no problems since.

But your post has me thinking, is it possible that the battery will not deep cycle any more due to age and that is why I am seeing the higher voltage reading - its trying to charge a flat battery? I bought the car used and it has a saab battery that the dealer said was new, now I starting to think its an original and at the end of its 60 month life span. Any thoughts?
