odd cooling system issue Posted by adam [Email] (#344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from adam) on Mon, 24 Mar 2003 14:43:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have noticed recently that after 15-20 minuted of driving my tempature gauge is higher than normal. Also my in cabin heat does not function at the same time the temp rises. This will usually reset after the car has cooled down and on at least one occasion while driving. The radiator is 2 years old and not clogged. The heater core is not leaking.
I am thinking that the water pump is stopping or seriously slowing down when the water temp gets above a certain point. I can't think of anything else that could cause these symptoms without a loss of coolant.
Anybody have any other idea. Water pump is 3 years old with 45,000 miles on it. Any way to test it without taking it off the car.
Thanks
Adam
