This question is being asked for a friend, so I'm sorry if I'm missing any important info. Here goes:

She's got a 1992 9000T that's a hand-me-down from another family member. It was given to her without a remote locking fob. Does this model normall have remote locking? If so, can she just pick up a fob on E-bay and have a Saab mechanic program it for her? Meanwhile, she's developed an odd locking problem using the locks manually. If she uses the key to unlock anything before the driver's door, the alarm is triggered (including the trunk).

It really comes down to two questions:
1. Is remote locking already available to her, needing only a programmed fob?
2. Is there anything she can ask her indie Saab mechanic to do to deal with the alarm being triggered if she wants to put something in her trunk on the way from the back to the front of the car?
