... wanting to replace my 92 9000 Cde windshield, I've found prices going from about
250 euros to 500 euros.
The lowest prices were settled by independants, and the highest by Saab ( of course ! ).
The windshields proposed were absolutely the same ones ... but the Saabie one had the precious logo printed on top of all the technical mentions ( sekurit, etc ... etc ... ). And that's about it.
Everybody wanted the car for ( at least ) three hours and the promess that I won't drive the car for 24 hours after the replacement. It seems that you have to allow the all thing to dry
properly without having the car going on bumps and road holes. So, by doing that, you won't have any parasite noises or any rain going thru the joint.
Me ? I've choosen the middle solution ... independant, saab windshield, three hours work, car stable for 24 hours : cost me about 325 euros ( all inclusive ).
1 euro is more or less equal to 1 $ ....
My advice : don't be cheap on this. You don't want a shitty windshield to explode in your face 'cause of a rock on a highway at 130 km/h ... transforming your pretty face in an hamburger messy kind of thing.
