Wheel bearing noise?

I believe I have a bad wheel bearing but not sure which side. Something hums loudly between 40 and 60 MPH going straight or curving left. When I curve to the right the sound goes away completely. I jacked the car up and couldn't feel any play in the wheels either. Does one have to buy a right or left side wheel bearing? Any thoughts? Thanks
I posted to the performance board on accident too, sorry.
