I'm on my third set of Firestone SZ-50's and they are the best tire I've ever owned in every category except wear, though they're probably about average in that area for a Z-tire. I've gotten 25-35k per set, but others who apparently drive more aggresively report less. It is the only tire model I've re-purchased in 20 years of owning Saabs. My previous wear mileage was based on the old SZ-50, but I'm hoping my present set of EP's
will last longer in accordance with a higher UTQC rating.

Wet performance is stunning and other performance criteria equally excellent, with low noise and decent ride. Straight-line acceleration shows lower traction threshold in winter when colder temps harden the rubber, but temps don't seem to affect lateral performance (cornering) or braking.

Check http://www.importpartsspec.com/saab.htm for survey results, showing a Goodrich tire #1, though the SZ-50 (now #2) has been at the top slot for years. The Goodrich position is based on very limited miles reported (23k vs. 3.5m for the FS), and only time will tell if that position will be retained.
