I have Konis under my '97 and they're great. They're pricey, and bit difficult to install but well worth the trouble.
The damping rates are adjustable front and rear. In my mind that sets Konis above the rest. I am of the opinion that struts with fixed damping curves can never be right because wheel and tire weights and spring rates vary so much from car to car.
I'm a bit of a suspension zealot, a function of my offroad motorcycle racing heritage. While admittedly a much more demanding environment, we'd typically try 50 different combinations of springs, damping rates and oil weights before we had it right.
