Hi all,
I have a 1993 9000 CSE Turbo 5 speed with 141k miles. I try to keep up on the service myself. I have followed Quasi's maintenance so far. The car runs excellently. I recently took it in for a safety and mechanical inspection just to check up on myself. I am a little below average with mechanical ability and am not sure if i can fix the things on the following list:
1. New V-belt - I think I would rather stay away from this, but am I being afraid for no reason?
2. Front crankshaft pulley seal and o-ring. I have no idea about this except for what little info I can find from posts.
3. Oil level sensor o-ring. This doesn't seem to bad.
4. Oil filter housing o-ring. This seems like a piece of cake.
5. Lower Control arm bushings. Not really sure about this. Some posts seem to think it's not too bad, others, say get someone to do it.
I really would like to do as much myself as possible (for obvious $ reasons). However, I rely on this car for daily transportation (120 miles/ day) and getting it done right is top priority. So should I purchase a Haynes manual and get at it? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Josh
