well not really the discussions of years past but....one could try Shell Rotella 10W30 or 15W40 conventional oil in the trans, as the high phosphorus content would probably help with wear, without the risk of synthetic transmission implosion, if your into that;-)
FYI for the last 5 years I've used Amsoil gear oil in my modified '88. Since Ive installed a new transmission I now run Castrol GTX 20W50 as per my Saab tech's 'orders'. Did syn kill my trans? after 27ok, no body is for sure. Track time didn't help;-)
