Headlight Relay Surgery?

Symptoms: Headlights go on and off all by themselves, 92-9kT 5 speed.
I know this points to the headlight relay in the relay box just in front of the battery.
I already removed and resoldered the smaller companion headlight display relay.
After taking the big red dual relay's cover off, I cannot find any bad solder joints, even with a magnifying glass.
But, I do see pimple growth on one of the spring loaded relay arm's electrical contact patch (the relay with blades #30, #31, and #86).
Should I take both springs off, remove both lower relay plates (connected to each other with a soldered piece of wire) and use some emory cloth on the electrical contact patches to smooth them out?
Could this be the cause of my crazy headlights?
Would this have anything to do with excessive relay clicking in one of the relays behind the glove compartment?
