Joe,
If you want to keep the same overall diameter to keep your speedometer etc accurate I think you'd want to go with 225/50-16's. My Aero has the stock 205/55-16's. Using the 225/55-16's would result in a 3.5% speedo error.
I can't speak to the rubbing, but my Aero rides stiff enough. For a daily driver I'd be reluctant to reduce the sidewalls any more.
