Lowering driver seat

I've just swapped a Ford Ka for a 9000 CSE and while I love the Saab I'm slightly amazed that there's much less headroom than in the Ka, even with the seat at its lowest. I want to keep the vertical part of the seat as upright as possible since reclining it gives me back ache, so I want to LOWER the horizontal part of the seat (it ought to be possible as there's a big air space under the seat).
I'd be very grateful for any ideas especially suggestions re a garage/trim company in London, East Anglia, South East who could do this for me.
