It is not alot of work to drop the oil pan. You need to undo the downpipe and all motor mounts. Once you do this the motor will raise up. You usually use the tranny as the jacking point to raise the motor so this will be a problem for you. You need to be carefull not to over extend any hoses/wires etc when jacking the engine up. Just because you have a drip from a spot does not mean the oil leak is there. New gaskets, crush washers or orings will fix the leaks at the drain plug, dipstick, oil level sensor, oil pressure sensor, oil filter, oil pump, main seals and valve cover.
If you have the time while the car is laid up I would do the pan. I did the pan on my 91 and found the oil pick up 1/2-3/4 plugged. Enough gunk came out to fit in the palm of my hand. I plan on keeping the car until it hits 300k so it is worth the effort. New Auto tranny will be next, 180k, and its starting to slip.
Good luck.
