Hi Karthik.. thanks for yr reply.. I should have said that the car is shod with Michelin Pilot Exalto tyres, 4-5mm front and 6+ rear, all 205/55... The shocks feel ok, but the problem does feel a little like the weak shock I had on my old Thema. The car has done 104k miles.

I understand the dynamics of what you're saying, but I'll try and describe the problem... I hold a straight steering line then give it a bit of boot in second - the car leaps forward with the front up a little, but then there's a kind of shimmy to the left which almost feels like I've hit some ice or aquaplaning ... Off the gas and everything settles down again... but as I said, under hard acceleration in third I dont seem to get the same problem.
I've seen a set of red poly bushes branded SuperFlex - steering rack, wishbones and anti-roll bars and was thinking about taking a punt and replacing the whole lot... do you think this might help?? I should be able to get the bushing for around £15.00 per set - is this reasonable??

Sorry to ask so many dozy questions, but this 9k is a million miles away from my old '81 900Gls..
