I took the DI out and checked gap on plugs (shade under 1.0) and applied the dielectric grease to plug ceramic and DI boots. I did find some fluid in the well under the DI (not in the plug sockets) aroung cylinders 1,2,3 that was a mix of a very dark blobs surrounded by a nearly clear fluid. Cylinder 4 was clean with no fluid around it. The plugs themselves do not show any sign of arcing and have light brown deposits except around the rim where they are black.

In an effort to understand how a DI is put together I took apart my old DI (different part numbers and some mechanical differences between the old and the replacement DI). There are 4 removable parts inside that are fluid filled (and leaking very slightly a clear fluid). Two of these have a lower level of fluid than the others (eg 2&3 near full with about 5-8mm air space but 1&4 with a gap more like 10-12mm.

1. Anyone know how to tell if one or more of these is still ok?
2. Are there any safety tips for opening up these things? I see some big coils in there that make me think safety might be an issue.
