The Webasto is a standalone system which heats the engine and the cabin as programmed (before you start!). It has 4,6kW power rating and only 20 minutes operation is enough even when it goes below -25 C. Windows clear, engine almost normal temp - all nice and warm. It draws very little gasoline, but will drain your battery if you drive only short distances. There's a fan for the combustion, the cabin fan and pumps for fuel and coolant circulation ! And no condensation problems because it utilises the cars' own fresh air ventilation system.

It can also be activated by a remote control. The only minor "fault" is, that you must remember to turn the heat on "full" and direct the airflow to the "defrost" (=windshield) before shutting the car down.

I hope this explains how wonderful the thing is....... :-)

And yes, I have all the DEFA stuff too, electric engine block and cabin heater and also the battery charger.
