I recently upgraded a lpt-->FPT using a new BPC valve.
After the first week or so, It went to base boost.
I flooded the valve with WD40 and boost returned.
A month or so later, back to base boost. WD40 did not
work this time.

I spoke with Todd at eEuroparts about the valve reliability.
His first question was, "Are you using a K&N filter" From
what he says the K&N does not do a sufficient job to eliminate
small particles in the intake. The small particles get blown into
the valve by the turbo and jam the solenoid. He recommended
replacing the K&N before installing a new BPC valve.

I have been using a K&N in my Aero for 3 or 4 years (with proper maint.)
Recently I have noticed that the turbo whine has drastically changed
pitch from a soft whine to a "ringing" whine like one of the blades is gently
hitting the housing. I wonder if it could be ingesting some fine debris.

Anyone heard of this before?
