TCS triggering Limp-Home in wet weather

Today was the first day with wet weather for over a month, and today, my TCS system has gone into Limp-Home mode three times, and it hasn't caused me any problems before. On all three occurences, it happened just after a right turn, when accelerating softly in second gear. Restarting the engine relieved the problem. The car is a 1991 2.3 turbo with DI and electronic throttle.
I recently had the main alternator/starter cable replaced, as well as the fuse box opened and connectors cleaned for another problem. Could it be that the TCS/ABS ECU has been slightly displaced and now has a contact problem?
I guess I'll have a look at the bleeder and control valves to begin with, but I'm not sure how to check for bad connections at the ECU without a Tech II or ISAT. Would these problems show up on blink codes?
Cleaning the throttle body sounds like a messy procedure - how much time should one estimate? What could go wrong for a fumbly mechanic like me?
I tried to provoke the problem to occur by driving soft and hard, turning and braking etc., but there was no consistent way to reproduce it. I guess that rules out problems related to coolant temperature and pedal position?
