A bad fuel pump has the same symptoms...

Saab 9000 fuel pumps fail in an unusual fashion. Due to wear, the brushes stop making contact, but only in certain positions.
If the fuel pump stops in one of those postions, the car won't start. Banging the fuel tank with a mallet moves the motor enough to where the brushes make contact and they'll usually start again.
The car will run fine again until you shut it off and the motor lands in the 'magic' position.
Crack the banjo bolt on the fuel rail, carefully as the gas in the rail might be under pressure. If no gas squirts out, the fuel pump might be at fault.
As with any other 'no start' there are many possibilities. If there is gas in the rail, a bad DI cassette is certainly possible.
Crank sensors are kind of a pain to change, as the connector is up under the intake manifold in the back. I'd exhaust all the other likely suspects first.
Good Luck
