I read somewhere in a previous post that whacking the bottom of the tank with a mallet while power is applied to the pump will sometimes free it up. That makes sense, because I believe that a common failure mode is when some particle gets past the screen and wedges in the pump rotor. The pump in my son's 92 9000S failed, but when I played with it afterwards, it ran. Even if that works but you have over ~100K miles, you should still consider replacement and carry a mallet until that's done.
The advice on the check valves is important, but I would also order a spare from eEuroparts (o-rings sold separately) just in case. You will need to make a tool to remove the big plastic nut without breaking all of the fins. I made one out of 3/16 x 1 inch steel bar bent into a U shape, grinding the tips to fit between the fins and welded on a 3/4 inch nut to turn it with a wrench. The big o-ring is also available from eEuroparts. The big decision to be made is whether to buy the whole unit ($~$380) or just the pump/motor ($~70); there are several recent posts on this subject. EEuroparts sells either, but there are two types of Walbro pumps (do an advanced search on their website). I ordered the more common type as a spare, but I haven't pulled out the pump assembly from our Aero to see which type it is, so I am interested in what you find. Good Luck.
