Cut-out/stall when hot
Posted by Gerald Reeves [Email] (more from Gerald Reeves) on Tue, 6 Jan 2004 13:35:25
My second message on this problem in as many days ! My Saab 9000 2.3T (1991) still stalls/cuts-out when hot. First the TCS ctrl signal displays on the dashboard and the car idles very badly and easily stalls. The engine cannot be restarted until it cools apparently. It appeared to be a classic case of a faultly crank position sensor. However I've just changed this and the fault was still present (the tach does bounce when on starter motor). I also fitted a new DI cartridge as a long shot but TCS ctrl light appeared again and engine stalled. It does seem to be temperature related but I'm out of ideas.
I'd be grateful for any other suggestion before I have to take it to Saab !
