Need some trouble shooting advice from the experts on a problem that just won’t go away: hesitation, sluggish, misfiring. Here's a description as accurate as possible from the beginning;
When starting in the morning, it's taking an increasingly longer time to start in the morning. After car is warm, it starts up good.
When engine is cold, there's some hesitation and that does not go away after engine is warm. Problem is, it does it intermittently. Sometimes when you give it a little gas it accelerates great, but if you give it just a tad more then it sputters. Also, when it's not sputtering, it's extremely sluggish. It's not running how it should anymore. Now it's either sluggish or sputtering whereas I used to get some good performance albeit intermittently. Here's what I've changed so far: new DI and plugs (no change in problem), new fuel pump, Fuel injectors professionally cleaned, cleaned grounds and all associated connectors (fuel inj., DI, ECU), borrowed good ECU, MAP sensor, a used CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor), compression test (good in all cylinders). It feels like something electrical but I can't pinpoint it. All wires checked good and I cleaned them and the ground points. I’m at wits end and the problem is slowly getting worse. Any help, tips, hints would be greatly appreciated. Car is 1996 9000 Aero 5-speed
