Honestly, I think you should telephone someone like a site sponsor who actually does or sells modified ECUs, give them your VIN, engine number or whatever and ask what they think you've got!
On the steering wheel, the Lord only knows - for instance, my early 1993 CSE car had a leather-trimmed, non-airbag wheel with a coloured logo. It also has no TCS, seats with little bits of suede on them and other stuff. I reckon Saab were prone to raid the parts bin and as with the ECU, if you're looking at it or holding it in your hand, that's what you've got. Maybe your original wheel ended up with the driver's teeth embedded in it and they swapped it for a newer one...
