replacing clutch... things to do

Replacing the clutch this week in my '97 aero. The stock one has lasted 160k miles. With 21psi it slips in 3-5 gears. Because I've been nursing this clutch along with sparadic slipping, I've decided I would purchase a new flywheel to go on the car. I'm installing the uprated Sach's pressure plate and have heard some horror stories on this board about turning the old flywheel and having this pressure plate not engage due to thickness. New flywheel is quoted at just under $500. I definately don't want to get the whole thing back together and have the clutch not engage. Since I'm doing the job myself, this isn't really an option. Also heard some bad things about replacing the rear main seals. If I have a minor leak, should this be left alone?
Any tips, webpages, diy procedures you can post on here would be great. I'm performing the job with a lift and plan to leave the engine in the car. Thanks for any info, wish me luck.
