it's a long shot, but to me it sounds as if your AC evaporator is icing up. On longer trips this may happen if the anti-frost switch is not rightly calibrated. And these switches usually are off somewhat (or a lot) over time.
In the ACC system the AC runs almost continuously, air temp being regulated by the mixer flap. The AC is supposed to dry the air, but when it gets iced up, the outer ice layer will start to melt at some point in time, moistening the air that runs over the evaporator box.

If the drains are clogged, water might even run into our blower motor housing giving you a nice shower every now and then (I even got an ice storm from the centre vents once)
