Yesterday evening my 89 9kT, having just driven home from work, Wouldn't start. The engine turned slowly, then but never caught, then wouldn't crank.
A friendly passing motorist offered a jump start, but with the same result.
Last weekend I tried to change the brushes on the voltage regulator, but couldn't get the old ones out, so cleaned and reinstalled the VR. Battery has shown signs of weakmess of late, so I assume this is the root cause, but I noticed when jumping the car the EDU was reading 19.5V.
letting the car sit a while, then turning on the ignition shoowed 19.5V then dropped to 9.1V.
A voltmeter across the battery terminals showed 12.5V
I presume I need a new regultor and battery. Any other suggestions while I am ordering stuff?
