Headlight washer access and check valves Posted by Aerogenous [Email] (#1303) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Aerogenous) on Thu, 8 Apr 2004 01:50:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
My headlight washers started to leak on my 97 Aero. My guess is that one or more check valves needs to be cleaned/replaced.
When I asked my mechanic to fix this, he took the inelegant approach of pulling the hoses off the wipers, sealing them with ty-raps and pushing them back into the body.
In his defense, I can't say these things are even remotely important here in sunny southern California. But, being an anal Aero lover, it wasn't the repair I had in mind. I want these to work.
So my questions are (1) where the check valve(s) to the headlight washers are located and (2) how I get into this body cavity to reconnect the hoses? I couldn't see any easy way to do this.
Thanks for any help with this.
John
