Some clarification-
You turn the key to Start, and the engine won't turn over. What happens if you turn the key to ON? Do you get dash lights? What happens if you turn on the headlights and step on the brake pedal? (key ON, engine off).

If you turn the key to ON and don't get lights, or they dim greatly/go out when you turn on the headlights/press the brake pedal, then you've either got a very weak battery, or more likely a bad connection at the battery. Visual inspection of the cables/connections will only go so far - the electron flow is between the battery post and the cable clamp, and all it takes is a micron-thin oxide layer. Remove the cable clamps, and polish the inside of the clamps/outside of the battery posts.

A real quick check uses a voltmeter - measure the battery voltage on the posts - not the clamps, the posts. Try that with the car ON (headlights on, fans running) and off. If the battery voltage drops a lot under load (ON), say down well below 10 volts, then the battery is shot. If the voltage doesn't change, now measure the voltage difference between the positive battery post and the clamp. Yes, I know they're connected, but it can indicate a poor connection. If you see more than about 50 millivolts between the clamp and post with the car on, then the connection needs cleaning. The same with the negative.

The anti-theft will interrupt the starter, but shouldn't impact the dash lights or headlights. You might also have a bad ignition switch. But let's try the easy stuff first.
