I have a 91 9000 CD with 98000 miles. At about 86000 timing chain broke ans caused a lot of damage. In '91 the gears on the chain were soft causing the chain to break. You have to replace the gears. Check the chain. If it and the gears have already been replaced it is a great car. if not you will have to do it. Don't wait for it to break because then it will really cost. The soft gears is a problem in '91 and some '92's. Do a search of this board to find out more. Have the car checked by a real Saab mechanic.
