I did this on my non turbo in December.Remove wheel liner -front section and rear section. Remove serpentine belt. Remove idler pulley/ tensioner 4 bolts, there are 2 bolts holding the alternator on, one is visible THE LOWER ONE and should be obvious near the power steering pulley remove it, the other, the upper, this where the fun starts, goes the opposite way ie it points towards you from the engine side so the head is obscured from view and you have to get at it from above. Move the oil filler tube slightly to one side one small bolt and bracket to remove, then get your arm down in between it and the false bulk head and feel for the head of the nut.You can work out roughly where it should be by having a look at the orientation of the alt. I was able to move the spanner only a few degrees but with perserverance it was eventually enough to get it, the bolt, out. It is highly likely that the alt will be stuck fast even with the bolts out. Never fear just get a grip on it by hand and try rocking it up and down you're going to need to really beef this...it will eventually loosen don't give up. It then takes a few minutes to man handle it out, you will have to angle it ...you will see what I mean when you get to that stage.
