Weeping headlight washer/missing check valve? Posted by Aerogenous [Email] (#1303) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Aerogenous) on Sat, 17 Apr 2004 22:51:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A while back, I asked the board to help with washer fluid loss on my 97 Aero through my headlight washers. I figured the problem had to do with a bad check valve. Joe98 told me how to get to them from underneath the fender. When I exposed the underside of the reservoir, all I saw coming from the front pump was a short length of hose and a white T - no check valve. I traced the hose over the reservoir and through the Y to both wipers - no check valves there either. Then I noticed that the fluid loss is only through the left washer. The jet on the wiper sort of weeps, particularly after driving.
Now I'm confused and embarrassed to be stumped by something so simple. Does the jet on the wiper house some sort of valve? Is the short hose connecting the pump to the T a valve (I'm used to them being the size of Cheerios)? Do I need a refresher course on the Bernoulli Principle?
All thoughts appreciated.
