Unless you cracked the case or something. Many shops dont like to work on ZF transmissions, but many do. I didn't realize that there was a specific model year transmission for the 93.

Try calling Kirt Koller at autosports (800-624-3867 *5735) for advice. You can't find a more knowledgeable transmission guy for ZF gear boxes. They are in Holland Michigan, but can ship a reman trans anywhere. They have an exchange program as well. The transmission in my 91 CD is beginning to slip, so I will get a trans from Kirt by winter.

Kirt is a regular visitor to a BMW board that I belong to as well. He is very very good with advice.
