Something I can't fix / Fuel Pump

So I've hit a wall with my fuel pump repair job. All of the horror stories I've heard about fuel lines on this procedure do it some justice.
First I purchased a brake flaring tool from Shucks. This tool was useful only for grabbing the line better. I tried removing the fuel line to the fuel pump (walbro) with no luck, stretched it to the point where I ripped it completely off. Luckily I had purchased 1' of new line from eeuroparts.com (slightly larger in diameter I think) and it went on both nipples ok but it won't bend without kinking. There is a very sharp bend required for the pump to be installed. So far I have been unsuccessful in getting this line to bend without kinking.
I am not looking forward to this procedure for my broken fuel return check valve where I do not have a fuel line t o replace it with.
do I need to buy a heat gun?
any other suggestions, plz?
feel my pain, grr,
Matt
