So they changed something in the later cars. I can think of absolutely no reason to do that, but it sounds like something Saab would do. Considering how hard it is to keep the snap ring spread, let alone do anything else at the same time, I think George's method is the best approach, hands down. Perhaps if I had devoted more of my energy to thinking instead of vocabulary, I would have thought of that!
Advance lists a number for an axel assembly but they can't get it. Neither can anyone else. There's something about the driver's side manual turbo axel that makes it not just extremely scarce, but completely uunavailable. At the presnt time, anyway. I think I'll try the boot again, using George's method.
