I have a 97CSE-T Auto and it hauls some serious ass and you get full boost right through the gears with no drop at all. My 1-2 shift at full throttle just spins the tires on anything other then nice new stick pavement. With the auto, the ECU does not give full boost in 1st gear until about 3500rpm(more boost will just smoke the tires even more, especially w/o LS) and then when that hits you had better be pointing your steering wheel where you want to go because if the tire don't spin you will be pinned back into the seat and goes like a rocket into 2nd and you'll be in third before you reflexes catch up. The torque on these things is truely amazing and really catches people of gaurd. I love pulling up next to a Honda full of stickers and with a huge muffler and then blow by him before the merge after intersection. The 9000 reminds me of my 1987 Buick Grand National but controled and sofisticated unlike the completely uncotrolled and dangerous power that the GN puts out, I wouldn't even let my wife drive it in fear of what almost 400 lbs/ft of turbo'd torque in a rear wheel drive can do. Get the auto, you will love it, I do!
