APC is, as David says, Automatic Performance Control. It's a system that will limit boost as a function of engine knock. This allows the engine to run on lower octane fuel without destroying the engine. Some cars require high octane fuel, and running lower octane fuel can do damage.

The APC system is made up of a bunch of components - the APC box, the APC solenoid (also called the BPC valve) mounted on the backside of the radiator, the knock sensor (depending on year it's part of the ignition system).

You didn't mention the year of the car - that helps a lot - the engine system has changed a lot between 1986 and 1998. If your car is a '92-'94, I'm going to assume that you're referring to the TCS vacuum valve. But again, depending on year, it could be something else. Most likely nothing APC oriented.

I assume you ask the question not because of an insatiable quest for knowledge, but because something is wrong. Tell us the problem, and why the APC came up.
