I was wondering whether I should even bother responding to this post, but I'll be kind and assume that there was no malice intended. In truth the BMW doesn't need this feature because unlike the Saab, the central locking activates from each lock on the car including the boot (trunk), which not only has a manual release but also has a valet position as well and so does not need the use of either the key or that cute little switch on the driver's door to open the boot.

Would everyone please understand that I wasn't bagging Saabs in my earlier posts, I was simply making a comparison in the real world. Both BMW's and Saab's are great cars and each excels in ways the others do not. Neither are perfect and anyone who is so infatuated by their car to think it perfect(be it BMW or Saab) probably suffers from a myopic outlook!
